project overview
A Way Home Kamloops co-founded and co-chairs the B.C. Coalition to End Youth Homelessness. As part of this work, we provide a monthly report to the Homelessness Action Plan Leads on a challenges, roles or priorities related to different government ministries. For example, we did a report on MCFD and the Coalition gathered information from across the province and compiled it into a report . We then discuss the report with the Homelessness Action Plan leads and they then set up a teleconference with the relevant Minister and/or staff. PBSC Student volunteers will assist the coalition in drafting 2-3 memoranda related to 2-3 ministries. The focus of the reports will be set by the organization. These in-depth reports will aid in discussions with the ministers and help to solidify the coalitions positions on issues affecting youth homelessness in the BC Interior. four student volunteers are required for this project.
